Rafael "Ralph" Garcia

1929 - 2014

Garcia, Rafael "Ralph" Age 84, of Oconomowoc, was born to eternal life on Tuesday, May 6, 2014. Ralph is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Arlene (nee Joza), who is the best lady God ever created. Loving father of Catherine (Don) Shelley, James (Debbie) Garcia, Ralph (Paula) Garcia and Robert (Lorraine) Garcia. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Rafael was born May 30, 1929 in Chicago, IL, to Phillip and Marina Garcia. He had four sisters, Mary Rodriquez and Lillian Carrington, both deceased. Simone Ashley who lives in Paramount, CA and Hope Terrazas of Aurora, IL. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 12, 2014, at 1:00 PM with a visitation for family and friends starting at 11:00 AM all to take place at St. Jerome Catholic Church (995 Silver Lake Dr., Oconomowoc, WI 53066) with burial to follow at St. Jerome Cemetery. Memorials suggested to the American Red Cross. Rafael served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War, 1951 to 1953 was part of X CORP 185th ENG. Combat Bn. where he earned a bronze star. He retired from GE Healthcare after 27 years of service. He was a long time Red Cross Natural Disaster volunteer where he went out on assignment for 30 years. He was also active in the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post 91 in Oconomowoc. Ralph also loved playing golf and loved spending time with his family who will deeply miss him.
