Randy Lederhaus Obituary

Lederhaus , Randy D. CMSgt. Entered into eternal life on November 22, 2017, at the age of 53. He served in the Wisconsin Air National Guard, at the 128th Air Refueling Wing for 23 years. He proudly achieved the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. Randy's active duty service consisted of various Human Resource and Logistical Support positions. While working full time for the Air National Guard, Randy attended Concordia University in Mequon and he attained his MBA in Business Administration. Upon military retirement, Randy was employed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation from 2006 - 2016. Randy was the project manager for the relocation of the Milwaukee division, FBI office in downtown Milwaukee to the current site in the Stark building in Saint Francis, WI. He was instrumental in the design, completion and occupation of the FBI Milwaukee Field office. Randy's "FBI Family of Friends" continues to be a source of strength and love for his family, and supported Randy during his struggles with cancer over the years. Randy currently was employed by the U.S. General Services Administration as a property manager for the Federal Courthouse in downtown Milwaukee. Randy was the pinnacle of a family man. He effortlessly dedicated his life to making the lives of his wife, Claire, and daughter, Katie, seamless in every way. He loved working on home improvement projects and doing some outdoor landscaping at their home in Muskego. Randy always said that, "We have the best nest!" He was the biggest supporter and fan of his daughter, Katie, with many countless hours of swim meets with year round swim club, SWMKE and Muskego high school swim meets. Randy loved being a member of the Harley Davidson owners group. He liked riding his Harley around rural routes on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Randy's presence is missed by his dog, Zoe, who was his constant companion and source of comfort during his illness. Randy was a long time member of Hales Corners Lutheran Church. He will live forever in the memories of his wife, Claire, daughter, Katie, son, Craig Johnson, daughter-in-law, Michelle, as well as his grandchildren Ayden and Avery. He will be sorely missed by his parents, Herb and Bonnie Lederhaus and mother-in-law Barbara (the late Thomas) Napierala. He is further survived by his brother, Steve Lederhaus, and many more friends and relatives. Visitation will take place on Tuesday November 28th at Hartson Funeral Home, 11111 W. Janesville Rd Hales Corners, WI 53130 from 4 PM to 7 PM followed by a funeral service at 7 PM. Committal service and military honors will take place in the chapel at the Southeastern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring St, Union Grove, WI 53182, at 10 AM. Randy was a first class person. It was a privilege to have the opportunity to work with him at the Bureau. He treated everyone fairly and was a fabulous mentor. He provided excellent guidance and reassurance. Randy's love of his family was definitely apparent in the way he spoke of his daughter and wife. His smile and thoughtfulness will be greatly missed in this world. God gave us the gift of being able to know him and now he can watch over his family from heaven and help prepare the way for the rest of us. Thank you Randy for being you.

I knew Randy when I was coming up through the ranks. He was an outstanding Chief Master Sergeant. Only 1% of the enlisted members in the Air Force attain the rank of CMSgt. But Randy did, and well deserved. He was a person I looked up to. He always did the right thing and he lived the "core values" before the Air Force even came up with that term. Randy and Claire were amazing leaders in the Air National Guard and I am grateful for their mentorship over the years. I am sad for the loss of Randy but also happy that he believes in our Lord and I will see him in heaven some day.
