Richard Dricken Obituary

Richard Dricken

South Milwaukee - Found peace on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at the age of 65 years. Richard was a lifelong resident of South Milwaukee. Richard worked for Bucyrus Erie/Caterpillar and retired from there after 41 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Gail (nee Budzien) Dricken, his youngest son Andrew (Anne), grandchildren; Christopher, Vincent, Juliette, and Charlotte. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his oldest son Daniel (Melissa), grandchildren; Dean, Paige, Andrew and Aaden which he also loved very much. Cherished son of Gerald and Betty Dricken. Brother of Dave (Brenda), and Janice (Joe) Murphy. Further survived by other relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Richard's godmother Rhea and cousin Kay for their constant phone calls, which were always comforting to Richard. The family would also like to thank the doctors and nurses of Reiman Cancer Center for all their help, Jerry Priog for sitting with Richard during his chemotherapy sessions and playing cribbage. Jerry was certainly a true friend. Also, Richard's Sheepshead friends; Karl, Jim, John, and Dave for always having a good time with Richard. A very special thank you to everyone at Tippecanoe Presbyterian Church as they were in Richard's corner giving him good thoughts, prayers, and love, Pastor Karen for her uplifting words of encouragement to stay strong. Lastly, Gail would like to thank her dearest friend Gina who was always there whenever Gail needed, you are deeply loved.

Due to the pandemic restrictions at this time, a private family service will be held. Please consider planting a tree in Richard's memory.

I knew Richard for years ,We worked in the machine shop and we were involved with the union. He was a all round great guy and a friend to all. To show you what type of person he was, Many years ago he and I went to a union conference in Green Bay. I did not know it was at a casino and brought little money. I gave what I had to the casino and just hung out while Rich played cards. He saw me and realized I was broke. He then Gave me $20 dollars. No strings attached. I never forgot that. And he never mentioned it again. Never heard a bad word about any one from him. He was just a very nice person and will be missed.
