I'm saddened to hear of the passing of the wonderful Mr. B. My first memory of him is taking Jill and me to Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois in 7th grade (1974). Jill was a new friend so I didn't know her well at the time, but I was thrilled to be in the company of such a fun family. My own father was a rageaholic who had abandoned the family at this point, so a good-natured man behind the wheel was a foreign concept for me.
Over the years, Mr. B would be the closest I ever got to having a father. Since Serbian Christmas was on a different day, I spent every Christmas with the Brunellis, where I was treated like family. I loved how Mr. B called Jill"Jilly Beans," then I received the honor of my young life when he bestowed the nickname"Suzi Belle" upon me.Such a smallthing meant so much to me, and I treasure that name to this day.
As a newly licensed driver, I once had to call Mr. B for help. After numerous badly-angledattempts at backing out of thegarage, I was dangerously close to scraping the car. Mr. B came, jacked up the rear end of the car and pushed it away from the side of the garage. He just laughed and said, "Oh Suzi Belle." Again, a seemingly small thing was huge in my world -- a calm father figure you could count on.
My fond memories also include Mrs. B, who was equally as good-natured and fun-loving. My condolences to the family for the loss of your beloved father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and best friend. And thank you forever for letting me be part of your family during such a critical time in my life.
Love, Sue (Ignjatovic) Norberg

Jill, you and your family will continue to be in my prayers. What a beautiful message about the kind of man your dad had been.

Bob was an amazing Uncle. His Obituary was spot on, I´m still laughing. Bill.
