Robert A. Karow

Karow, Robert A. Died February 19 at the age of 94. A lifelong resident of Wisconsin, he grew up in Shorewood and lived in Whitefish Bay, Three Lakes and Bayside, as well as Pompano Beach, Fla. He is survived by the love of his life, Elizabeth "Betty" (nee Ott) Karow, who were friends since grade school and married for 65 years, six children, 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A captain in World War II, Bob was in business with his late father, Arthur T. Karow, for many years selling leather and rubber products for shoes. He later was a real estate executive. Bob was a faithful Catholic, outdoorsman who loved boating and fishing for muskies, an accomplished wood worker, and, above all, a devoted family man whose life was committed to his wife and children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Carola (nee Bohmann) Karow and a sister, Lorraine. In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Thomas (Teresa) Karow, Janet (David) Hintz, Margaret (Reid) Engstrom, Sally (Peter) Wallace, Kathryn (John) Edlebeck and Judith (Thomas) Boyle; grandchildren Kevin and William Karow, Andrew and Matthew Hintz, Joseph, Evan and Katie Engstrom, Steven Wallace, Christine (Wallace) Moore, Bridget (Wallace) Tighe, Carolyn, Daniel and Margaret Edlebeck, Ann Marie (Edlebeck) Widder and Michael, Mark and Erin Boyle. The family wishes to thank Elizabeth Residence and Compassionate Care Hospice for their wonderful care. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, Feb. 27 at St. Eugene's Catholic Church, 7600 N. Port Washington Rd., Fox Point, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. Private entombment at Wisconsin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, gifts to Wisconsin Honor Flight would be appreciated.
