Robert Rekowski Obituary

Rekowski, Robert "Bob" 12/24/49 - 1/25/18 Robert "Bob" was born to Angeline and Robert Rekowski on December 24, 1949 in Cudahy, WI and passed peacefully into God's hands surrounded by family on January 25, 2018 from complications of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, diagnosed in December 2016. Bob leaves behind his son, Mark Rekowski (Tina), of Woodbury, MN and daughter, Betsy Pelsue, of Janesville, WI; their mother, Mary, who was at Bob's side to support; Grandboys Shawn (9) and Sam (7) Rekowski and Ashton (8) Pelsue; Brother, Chuck Rekowski, sister Kathleen; Nieces and nephews. Our Dad and Grandbob is best remembered for his love of family, time together at his home on Castle Rock Lake spent boating, fishing, grilling, relaxing and cheering for all things Badger, Packer and Brewers. His 'Grandboys' were the twinkle in his eyes with lure hunting on the beaches, baseball in the yard and football on the beach. He enjoyed tinkering in the garage, building and maintaining all things mechanical to fix or improve just about anything powered by a motor. He tried to pass his knowledge of maintaining engines and motors to both of his children. Much of it will live on with his son Mark! Later in life, Bob built a beautiful log cabin on Castle Rock Lake to occupy his time with the intent to rent it out. Bob would welcome your visit http://www.cottagekeeper.com/all-homes/timber-ridge-on-castle-rock-lake/ Professionally, Bob started Respiratory Associates, a durable medical equipment business in 1984 and was a partner in Physical & Rehab Therapy, a physical therapy clinic, started in 1987. Bob was a pioneer in home health care being one of the first home health care providers in WI and one of the first to offer home ventilators for patients who could not breathe on their own. In addition, Bob helped the University of Wisconsin-Regional Services set up their home ventilator program to expand the reach of service. Bob was loved by his patients and families for enabling them to be comfortable, as well as cared for, in their homes. The family wants to thank Agrace Hospice for their loving care to Bob and also to Huntington Place Memory Care. Schneider Funeral Home & Crematory (1800 E. Racine St., Janesville, WI 53547) (608-754-4444) is assisting the family. The family will have a private memorial on Feb. 3, 2018 and a gathering in memory of Bob for friends and family will be held at Castle Rock Lake on June 23, 2018. I'm so sorry to hear of your fathers' passing from CJD. While rare, my father passed from CJD in April, 1979. I hope God can ease your grief. Godspeed to Bob...
