I was a student aide in the Guidance office at WHS and had the privilege to work with Coach S. I am now working in the Guidance office at the local high school. I have fond memories of the days in 1966 and 67. I am so sorry for your loss. He was a wonderful man with a laugh and smile to make your day. I have been blessed to know and work with him. Thank you Joe for sending out this message to WHS alumni

I remember Coach Spicuzza as the teacher who got me through Biology. I remember him because he took the time to help me get it through my thick skull. It's because of him along with a few others who enabled me to be a proud member of the Class of 1960

Though we have never met many of you personally, you're all very dear to us through Dad's stories. Meanwhile, he's returned home, holding hands with Mom in Heaven ... and we're left wondering what comes next. God bless you all.

Coach Spicuzza was a warm and caring person and a coach who had a life long influence on you. Reading some of the other entries in this book make you realize all the impact Mr. Spicuzza left on other people's lives as well.
I knew him as a great motivator and one who could console you when you needed that most as well as a ready sense of humor. I can see him rattling the chains in excitement on the walls of the gym and he coached from the edge of the mat. He will be missed. I had the honor of introducing my coach to my son at a Hamilton Tourney a few years ago.
My deep sympathies to Bob's family and friends.

Coach Spicuzza had a great heart and spirit. He was a true motivator and could console you when you needed that most also. He cared about his team.
I saw him at Hamilton tourney a few short years ago and had the honor of introducing my Coach to my son.

Coach Spicuzza was guidance counselor and wrestling coach. I wrestled for him from 1983-87. He was a very special man who had a huge influence on the life of my brother and I. The life lessons he instilled me through the sport of wrestling helped change the trajectory of my life and that of my entire family. The wrestling family he developed amongst my team mates from the classes of '86 and '87 (I found out later) was envied by many others and one that has not been duplicated. I am thankful to the Spicuzza family for sharing their father with us. Please know that your father was loved dearly. My prayers are with and for them as deal with this loss.

Its true how one person can make a difference in your life. Mr. Spicuzza was my counselor at WHS when I graduated in 1964 and he helped me prepare for college. I can still remember his sunny disposition. May he rest in peace.

We extend our deepest sympathy to the family of Robert Spicuzza. All three of us (Barbara, Polly, and Joan Heinrich, sisters) had him as a class teacher or homeroom teacher at Washington High School back in the 1960's and remember him fondly. He was a great teacher, gave special attention to all his students, and had a wonderful sense of humor. We would also run into him occasionally out at Lake Beulah because we were members of Camp Charles Allis and he had a cabin or house somewhere in that area.

I will never forget Bob Spicuzza. I was fortunate to play in the Catholic Little League he established. I was also lucky enough to have him as a wrestling coach at MUHS from 1994-1998 and coach alongside him a year later. I'll never forget when I was wrestling a tournament in Madison, a referee coming up to me and letting me know how much Coach Spicuzza had influenced his life.
Thinking and praying for The Spicuzza Family.

I wrestled for Coach Spicuzza in 73-74 and it was in that wrestling room at Washington High School that I learned a tremendous amount about hard work and discipline. I taught High School and coached wrestling for 3 years after I graduated college and I tried to instill in my athletes the same values taught to me by Coach Spicuzza. He was one of my true heroes and I pray that God grant him eternal rest and peace. Memory Eternal Coach!

Mr. Spicuzza was my guidance counselor from 1968-1970 at WHS. I remember him as being very nice, funny and always willing to listen. He was most helpful when I applied to college-and I ended up being a public school teacher for 37 years. Please accept my sympathy, and know your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Bob Spicuzza was outstanding as an educator, counselor, and coach, and earned many awards in the field of coaching. However, those who knew him well liked him for the sincere and caring person that he was. He was passionate about wanting the best for his students and athletes. I taught with Bob from 1963 until he retired in 1994, and had nothing but respect for the way he worked with students and his colleagues. Bob is another excellent example of an educator who really worked hard at his profession.

I knew him from 1958-1962 as a wonderful teacher and warmhearted man. It's funny but after 50 years you remember some teachers more than others and those you remember were either very nice or very bad, and he was very good man.
We will miss him as we ourselves age.

Robert Spicuzza was my wrestling coach from 1965-1967, when I graduated. He was a great coach with a lot of knowledge about the sport and compassion for his team. He asked us to eat well so we could wrestle well --long before good nutrition was appreciated by most young people. He told us the most important thing he wanted us to learn was that we should keep exercising our whole life, and I have done that, often thinking of him.

Mr. Spicuzza was both my wrestling coach and counselor from 1967 to 1970. I had the greatest respect and admiration for him as a wrestler, a coach, and an outstanding individual. He was tough and extremely dedicated to the team and the sport. In 2006, I went back to Milwaukee for a visit and got to see him again. He seemed to be doing well and was still very active as an assistant coach at Hamilton. He had just been inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame at Stillwater, Oklahoma, and I had the privilege of seeing his name on a plaque on the wall of the Hall of Fame museum, last year. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.
