Rose Daitsman Obituary
Milwaukee - A celebration of life will be held for Rose Mellman Daitsman, a lifelong activist for peace, social and economic justice, civil and worker rights and equality in education, on Sat., Nov. 9, at the Chapel of the Zelazo Center, Peck School of the Arts at UWM, 2419 E. Kenwood Blvd., Milw.
The memorial ceremony will begin at 1:30 PM, with friends recalling her remarkable life of activism and musical selections from folk musician Lil' Rev and the Raging Grannies.
Ms. Daitsman passed away at the age of 93 on July 26 in Milw; she had been a resident at Eastcastle Place in Milw. for several years. For full obituary, please visit goodmanbensman.com.

Dearest Rose, whose energy and enthusiasm, and constant smile will be greatly missed. She always added the zinger wisdom needed to capsulize the issues before us. In Milwaukee, I worked with her on Peace activism, the Cable Co-op, the New Jewish Agenda and our Arab-Jewish dialogues. We also had the pleasure of hosting her at our home in Cincinnati, when she returned to be honored and I had a chance to learn about her earlier activism on Cincinnati's West End, where she helped to form what became a co-operative named ParkTown, a development of hundreds of units of housing which is still a well-kept safe haven of cooperation and pride for those who live there and self-govern. She was always a force to be reckoned with, a wellspring of goodness and knowledge and wisdom. Wow, what a life well lived.
