I met Scott while playing Trivia. Sometimes he'd play on my team. I found him personable and witty and I enjoyed exchanging tidbits about rock music with him. He will be missed by me and many other Trivia players.

Mrs Murphy and Family
Please accept my sympathy. It was very sad to hear that Scott had passed away. He was always the life of the party and a very funny and warm hearted person to know. Through school at IHM, West Allis Hale and UWM we shared a lot of good times together. I only saw him a couple of times after I transferred to UW-Madison in 1977 but will always have great memories of him.

I'm so incredibly sad and heart broken! Mr. Murphy was an awesome kind hearted man. He had a great humorous way in his teaching. He was helpful and loved helping in theater. He was a helper in many of my classes and you can tell he loved his students. Even though I have been out of high school at Hale for 15 years already he would come and stop by at my work, at HOBO just to visit me. He was very excited about each pregnancy. I had 3 and my last was twins. I'm a stay at home mom now. So I didn't ever get to say goodbye. Just a "See you later". I owe my life to him. He helped me through out my parents divorce. He also saved my life on stage actually. They were changing a gel frame on the cat walks and the frame fell. He pushed me a little out of the way and I ran the rest. If I didn't move in time I probably would not be here. Well, I miss you Mr.Murphy. You were one that always stayed in my heart from High School.

Scott was our neighbor and friend for over 20 years, he watched our daughter grow up and our grandsons. All of the pink flamingo's I have came from Scott. I remember about 10 years ago he had a sponge Bob key chain and he asked me if our oldest grandson liked SpongeBob and of course he did so he hung it on a little tree in his yard and we watched him find it. We will miss him a lot and are happy we were lucky enough to know him.

Mrs. Murphy, Terri, Kelly, Robin, and Hannah--I am so, so sorry for your loss. Scott was an unforgettable person. He was kind, outrageously funny, and one of the most generous people I've ever known. I will miss him. Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers...

My condolences Lorraine to you and your family on Scott's passing. Raymond and I would usually run into Scott at a grocery store once a year and the three of us would have a more than jolly conversation about family, school district and life in general. Can't imagine the neighborhood without a Marine or Murphy. God bless you and your family.

Dear Family and Friends of Scott A. Murphy,
We are very sorry to learn about Scott's passing. He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Scott possessed an effervescent personality and a tremendous sense of humor. He had a passion for helping others. He will be dearly missed by many, including those whose lives he touched via his lengthy teaching career at West Allis Nathan Hale High School and Frank Lloyd Wright Middle School. He will also be remembered for his involvement in community and social activities. It is our hope that the thoughts and prayers of family and friends comfort you at this most difficult time. I haven't seen Scott in many years, but was so sorry to read of his passing in today's paper. He and I worked together almost 30 years ago at the Brookfield location of a local record company. He was a teacher already (just working at the record store on the side), and I was a high school/college student. I remember passing the time when the store wasn't busy playing "20 questions" with him with a historical person or event being the subject matter of our game. We were both history nerds, so we had that in common! What a kind, smart, funny guy. Rest in peace, Scott.
Scott & I at the Open house at Miller Park. We were livin large. He will be missed.

Scott always had a passion for helping at risk youth, whether through modifying their educational goals, working on cars with them, or always being an available, caring listener. He was loved by fellow educators, students, his neighbors, and friends for his continual zest for life.

Scott was one of my dearest friends back when I worked with him at Hale. He could always be counted on for a shoulder to cry on, someone to laugh with or confess anything without judgment. He was funny and brilliant with a big heart. I am so happy the last time I saw him I was able to plant a few big sloppy kisses on his sweet face. So sorry for the loss of this dear, sweet man.

I was a metal shop teacher. When I had a special needs student in my class, Scott would come in to assist me. But Scott helped everyone and it seemed like he almost took over the class with his humor and compassion. The students loved this guy. I was always amazed at Scott's knowledge of trivia and his sense of humor. He was never without words. Scott made such a large impact on me and the students.
