Sharon Koch Obituary

Koch, Sharon (Nee Kircher) Born to Eternal Life on December 19, 2011, at the age of 72. On November 29, 1958, she married the love of her life Ervin Koch at Mother of Good Council Church in Milwaukee, WI. Cherished mother of Debbie (Jack) Klinger, Darrell (Kim), Dan, David (Debbie), Dean (Sheila). Daughter of the late Alvin and Claire Kircher. Loving sister of Jean Bennett and Bernadette Johnson. Preceded in death by brother Kenneth. Sister-in-law to Lois Wawrzyn, Gary, Gordon and Donald Koch and the late Joseph Koch. Precious Grandmother to Kurtis, Kenny, Kristina and Kyle Klinger; PFC Derek Koch, Dillan and Dana Koch; Abby, Matthew and little baby angel Josephine Koch. Loved and respected by her many relatives and friends. Sharon's Catholic faith was her life. Her love for the Lord and devotion to the Blessed Mother was an inspiration to all who knew her and it made many people seek Christ themselves. Sharon loved traveling to religious sites and shrines across the U.S., but her pilgrimages to Medjugorie and Rome were at the top of her list. She was a member of many religious groups and charities such as: The Padre Pio Prayer Group, the Holy Hill Cenacle and was a former member of The Christ Child Society. In addition, she coordinated the St. Mary's Lake Church St. Vincent De Paul food pantry, volunteered at the Marion Center in Milwaukee and made rosaries for Our Lady's Rosary Makers. Sharon was a regular viewer and supporter of the Catholic network EWTN. A 1958 graduate of Divine Savior Holy Angles High School, Sharon had many other personal activities that she enjoyed. Horseback riding was one of her favorites. She was a Master Gardener of Ozaukee County and volunteered for the Yard and Garden Line. There wasn't a neglected plant that she couldn't nurse back to health. An avid gardener, Sharon grew all of her own flowers, vegetables and herbs which she routinely shared with family, friends and numerous charities. Sharon enjoyed drawing up landscape designs and turned her yard into a park like setting. She also enjoyed the outdoors and watching all of God's creations in action. Sharon worked along side her husband Erv for many years at their family business, Hopkins Dry Cleaners. In 1994, she and her son Dean started the Mail Boxes Etc. franchise in Mequon which later became The UPS Store. Erv and Sharon were supporting members of two churches, St. Mary's Lake Church (Belgium area) and St. Francis Borgia in Cedarburg and want to share Sharon's life with both communities. A special thanks to the nurses of VITAS Home Hospice for their compassionate care. Visitation will be held at Eernisse Funeral Home, 171 N. Royal Ave., Belgium (Hwy LL nad Park St.) from 4-7PM on Thursday, December 22. Prayer service at 7PM. A second visitation will be held on Friday from 10AM to 11AM at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, 1375 Covered Bridge Rd., in Cedarburg. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following the visitation at 11AM. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials to EWTN or St. Francis de Sales Seminary in Sharon's name. EERNISSE FUNERAL HOME 171 N. Royal Ave. Belgium 262-285-4141 www.eernissefuneralhome.com

Erv-

We were so blessed to have you and Sharon as "neighbors" in the subdivision. Sharon was so friendly and down to earth. She was easy to get to know and love.

We are all better people for having gotten to know her over the years.

December 21, 2011

"We feel so sad when those we love
Are called to live in the home above,
But why should we grieve when they say good-bye
And go to live in a cloudless sky?
For they have but gone to prepare the way,
And we'll meet them again some happy day,
For God has told us that nothing can sever
A life He created to live forever.
So let God's promise soften your sorrow
And give you new strength for a brighter tomorrow."

What an "Inspiration" Sharon and her sisters, Bernie and Jean
were to me.
She will be sadly missed.

With Deepest Sympathy,
to Erv and family.
