Steve McCormick

1964 - 2017

McCormick, Steve Of Waukesha, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at home surrounded by his family at the age of 52. Steve was born in Laurium, Michigan on April 7, 1964, the son of William and Gwendolyn McCormick. He married Dawn Lander on June 4, 1983. He received his Associates Degree from Michigan Tech. University in Houghton. Steve worked as an Electrical Engineer for SPX for 23 years. He was an avid golfer and bowler. Steve always enjoyed spending time with his family at the cottage on Lake Superior in the U.P. He was a true family man and was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Steve proudly served his country in the United States Army for four years and was in the Active Reserves for six years. Steve will be missed by his wife, Dawn Lander; children, Stephen McCormick, Mark (Nina) McCormick, and Megan McCormick; grandchildren, Liam and Milania; sisters, Sandra (Glenn) Anderson and Deborah (Scott) Evans; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Steve is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael McCormick; and in-laws, Lloyd and Jean Lander. The visitation for Steve will be on Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 2:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 5:00 PM at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. Major Nelson De La Vergne will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the family are appreciated.
