Steven J. Chanos

Chanos, Steven J. Died peacefully 18th March, 2015 in Sarasota, FL. Beloved husband of Nancy Wussow Stover Chanos, and the late Mary Catherine Sullivan. Dear father of James, Thomas (Cheryl), and Steven (Gina) Chanos, and step-father to Gordon and Grant Stover. Grandfather of Nicholas, Lisa, Eric, Michael, Carissa, Melanie, Andrew, Alexa, and Cali Chanos. Uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. Fraternal brother of Arthur (deceased) and George Chanos. Beloved son of James and Jenny Chanos (both deceased). Steve was the son of immigrant parents, and was a 1942 graduate of Lincoln HS in Milwaukee, WI, where he was a star athlete and captain of the cross-country team. He served in the US Army Air Corps, 1942-45, where he saw action in the Pacific Theater. After attending the University of Wisconsin, Steve joined the family business, and in 1972 became a corporate executive of the BASF Corp. He retired at an early age to Longboat Key, FL, where he enjoyed golf and World travel. Visitation at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 25th, 4-7PM. Trisagion at 6PM. Additional visitation at ANNUNCIATION GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH, 9400 W. Congress, Milwaukee, WI 53225 on Thursday, March 26th, at 10-1030AM. Funeral Service at 1030AM. Interment to follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park. "Dad, we will miss your gentle spirit, kindness of heart, bedrock integrity, and fierce loyalty to your family and friends.
