Susan Maisa Obituary

Maisa, Susan R. Born to Eternal Life on May 14, 2016, at the age of 59, following a courageous year long battle with cancer. Beloved and adored wife of Jeff Wagner. She is also survived by brothers and sisters Jan (Don) Lapine, Dave, Karen, and Chris Maisa; devoted brother-in-law Scott (Toni) Wagner; treasured niece and nephew Sydney and Alex Wagner; and her beautiful Pomeranian pup Sasha. Sue was also the "honorary" aunt to the children of several special friends. Sue was an outstanding lawyer and an even better person. She was brilliant, strong willed, fiercely independent and as loving, caring, and generous as a person could be. If Sue was in your life, your life was richer and fuller because of it. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her. Visitation will be held at Feerick Funeral Home in Shorewood, TODAY, Wednesday, May 18, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A service honoring Sue's life will take place at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 7845 N. River Road in River Hills, on Thursday, May 19, at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sue's name may be made to the Froedtert Cancer Center, 9200 West Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee WI 53226, in the hope that one day a cure will be found for this awful disease. Sue would like that.

Dear Jeff,

I am so very sorry for the loss of your wife,
Sue. Month's back, I heard your mention of her recent passing on your afternoon show. I kept reminding myself to search for her obituary, which I finally did tonight. It is important for me to not only extend my condolences, but also to tell you that I have always enjoyed listening to your show because you are genuine and real. You are able to connect with people because you humanize all your subject matter. You listen to callers, and clearly callers listen you. I was humbled reading your guest book comments written for you, in honor of your wife, who I also enjoyed hearing you talk about. You and your family are in my prayers. Take Care

Dear Jeff,
We just heard you talking about what has happened over the last year. We are so sorry for your loss. You often talk about your life and marriage, and it was always very clear to us as listeners that your wife was your world. Thank you for sharing her in little ways every day with all of us. Sue must've been a wonderful lady! We love that she pushed to get that puppy. How sweet! She didn't want you to be alone. Always find comfort in Sasha and never stop smiling at the thought of your precious wife. She'll always be smiling back at you from heaven and the love will never leave you! May God always bless Sue's loved ones!

My sympathy extends to all of your family. This is something I would never have thought would happen at this time. I too have a family member undergoing cancer treatments which now seem like a regular routine. Continue on in strength and faith that should guide us all our days. Yes-I'm the same age too so it does hit home in many ways as was already said.

Jeff, it is with deep sadness to learn of the death of your much-loved wife. You don't know me, as I am more a silent listener to your weekday talk show.
Cancer is an ugly disease. As a nurse, I have been part of treatment programs as well as Hospice care. Each patient and their loved ones becomes part of our family through the process of treatment and later, death with dignity. Each death is as if it was our own family.
Please accept sincere condolences and prayer for strength as you begin a future without Susan.
Peace. Shalom. Be Blessed.
