Dear Lynn, Nancy and Steve and children, I came across your dad's obituary today. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. He was a wonderful man that was so kind to everyone he met. Walt was so accepting of Al and I. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

I would like to extend my sympathy to the family of Walter. I've only know Walter a short time, since he lived at Meadowmere, but he was quite a likeable, fun, and classy guy. I will miss him on our dinner outings and at happy hour. He was a very nice and warm man. He will be greatly missed.

To my cousins - Lynn, Steve and Nancy;
I was very sorry to hear about Uncle Walt.
I know as cousins we have not kept in touch over the years but I have memories of nice times with Uncle Walt and Aunt Vernie, and you "kids" too.
We had your mom and dad over for dinner, along with my parents, obviously several years ago. That was the last time we saw them. So much has happen over those years and we've all lost so much. Thank God for memories...
I remember that evening very well. They were both very gracious to be invited to our home, and lots of fun. Your mom insisted that by adding more ice to her Martini it would dilute it. Being from an engineering family I tried to argue the point and I'm not sure who won - not the important part to remember.
My kids never knew your parents or you guys either - that's very unfortunate. We heard of Uncle Walt's passing on Easter Sunday while we were all together. We talked for a while about your folks and past times. They sensed the loss but it was actually kind of nice to reminisce. Funny how such a sad happening can bring on some pleasantries.
Anyway, we are thinking of you in these sad times.
Hope otherwise you are all well and please, if you're ever in the frigid north, look us up!
Love,
Mike, Deb, Angie (& Scott), Kevin (& Kathleen), Scott

To Walter's Family - My thoughts are with you at this time of sorrow. I first knew Walter when both of us were Presidents of the Sertoma (Service to Mankind) Club back in the late 70's meeting at John Ernst Cafe. We also both served as Sertoma state governor and I thought of him as a mentor in my early days in non-profit service. We had a nice visit after L-C Mass a few months ago and I will always remember his genuine sincerity and cheerfullness. What the world has lost is heaven's gain.
