Wayne Lien Obituary

Lien, Wayne William LAUREL, MISS.-Wayne William Lien, age 70, of Laurel, Miss., passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017, at Agrace HospiceCare in Madison, Wis. He was born on Jan. 8, 1947, in Milwaukee, the son of Orland and Dorothy (Zautner) Lien. He enjoyed traveling with his family in his younger years, especially snorkeling and metal detecting on the beach. Wayne graduated from West Allis Central in Milwaukee. He received his Master's degree from UW Madison in Theoretical Physics and Electrical Power and Machines Engineering. Wayne took pride in his creativity and talent as an inventor. He had received dozens of patents for his work in electrical engineering. He was an animal lover who enjoyed spending time with his six dogs and Matty, the cat. Wayne is survived by his daughter, Melissa (Daniel) Murphy; son, Kelly Lien; granddaughters, Skye Lien, Ava Murphy, Isabella Murphy and Josslyn Murphy; great-grandson, Weston Wayne Wells; and brother, Dennis (Judy) Lien; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be made to University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. The family would like to give special thanks to close friends, Tim and Rachel Bush-Howell and Michael Knight whose support allowed him to live independently throughout the years.
