My mom, brother and I were very sad to hear of Bill's passing. Bill and I exchanged emails briefly and his love of family was profoundly evident in his writing. What touched me was his kind words of admiration for my father, Walter Acker...Uncle Wally to most every in Wisconsin. Please know that Bill and everyone in his family are in our thoughts and prayers during this sad time.

My father was an amazing person who deeply cared for others. He taught my brother and I the importance of life, sacrifice, and tradition. His imprint on my life will be forever and I will carry his teachings with me forever. He was beyond loved and will never be forgotten. Only deeply missed but his legacy will continue. I love you #1 Pops may you now rest in peace until I see you again.. Zach will "take care of your daughter" Foul boy will remember everything forever.. Your papunska

My Dearest Friend Bill. I remember the first day we met, 18 yrs ago, in some switch room working for Alcom. We were best friends from the get go. You understood me and I you. My family also loved you, my mum adored you and my Pop respected you......One Marine to another Marine. You are my big brother I never had. I know our lives took different paths, but you were always in my heart. I know GOD will watch over you because I prayed and asked him to.
So......until we meet again my friend.
I will Love You Forever & A Day.

I knew Bill a long time ago and we both left an imprint in each others lives. We may not have made it but I'm glad to say our friendship did. May you rest in peace, Bill.
My sympathy goes out to his family.
May God's Blessings and peace be with you.

Our aquaintence was brief, but your love of the Corps showed through. Your family will miss you, but you will be guarding the Gates. Semper Fi.

My little brother Bill was 5th born of 9 children. He was right in the middle of all the action. He tagged along with his older brothers and learned some of their habbits. We had great times together. He became a Marine at a young age to follow his brothers and never forgot the impression the Marine Corps made on him. He tried hard and meant well, now gone at an early age. He will be missed ! Mike & Mary Acker

Not only were you a pleasure to work with but someone I was proud to call a friend! Very proud American, extremely proud father and hard working manager that earned the respect of all who came into contact with you! Godspeed, Mr. Acker! You will be sorely missed!

Strong Marine, Devoted Father, Fierce Friend.......a man who believed in the blessing of today, the hope of tomorrow, the promise of life everlasting. His pain and suffering are over and he has found peace in Jesus's arms. I will always love you and keep you in my heart until my last breath, my little brother. Know that you were loved!! Sis xo
