I just learned of Bill's passing. This is Cantor Raymond Hickman with Temple Israel in Melbourne, Florida where my wife Rabbi Patricia Hickman is spiritual leader. To Patricia Nelson let me say how I have always loved both of you and cherished our years singing together in Milwaukee - both of you are great and honored artists in my heart. On Friday night I will chant Kaddish for Bill in my synagogue. I hope this meets with your approval. Love and beautiful memories from this old man to you and all your family.
For Bill, OF BLESSED MEMORY: Sincerely: Cantor Raymond Hickman

I was grateful to spend time in the Duvall/Nelson house during my voice lessons, and would enjoy when Bill would venture out of the back room and say hello. He was witty and warm and lovely. My heart goes out to the whole family, especially Pat. Love and hugs.

Was lucky enough to come in contact with Bill by doing genealogy and discovering we were related. Bill and Pat have both been very kind to Me. I send the whole family much sympathy during this very sad time.

Your voice touched so many, Bill. You leave behind such a legacy of those who love you. I pray that you rest and find peace and that those who love you, and have loved you, find peace, as well.

Auntie Pat, Natasha and family,
Our loss is heaven's gain. What a time they must be having in heaven celebrating Uncle Bill's arrival. With his trials of the past few years gone and the old Uncle Bill renewed, I know they are enjoying his sharp wit, strong voice, big smile, colorful jokes and a little champagne! Happy trails to you Uncle Bill....
Much love to you all,
Scott, Lisa, Anna & Grace

Bill was my voice professor at UWM. He and Pat are major factors in why I can make my living as a musician. Years ago, at an audition, one of the people hearing me said that I sounded like Bill Duvall. Probably one of the best compliments I ever received. RIP, Bill.

I was very saddened to learn of Bill's death and send my sincere condolences to Pat and other members of Bill's family. Bill was an excellent singer although I remember him even more for his positive attitude and his terrific sense of humor. He was a charming, sensitive man and I was happy to be one of his colleagues.

Very hard to say goodbye to such a wonderful man! Professor Duvall was a caring, encouraging and diligent teacher/coach, who gave me great confidence in my abilities and talents as a vocalist. He was always thoughtful and treated everyone with respect and kindness. I am quite fortunate for my time with him and will always be grateful for what he taught me and shared with me. I will miss his wit, sense of humor and warm smile too!

Bill and I played many productions together with Music Under the Stars, UWM, and throughout the city in various venues. He was a wonderful artist-teacher, friend, and story teller.
