William Yellin Obituary

Yellin, William Charles "Bill" Passed away peacefully on September 26, 2016, after a courageous battle with colon cancer. Born in 1942 to Seymour and Sylvia (nee King) in Massachusetts, he was the loving husband for thirty-five years of Jean (nee Hammermann); devoted father of Michael (Amy); doting grandfather of Georgia; dear brother of John (Paula) and Nancy; caring uncle of Samuel and Sharon; and was beloved by other relatives and friends. Bill was brilliant, funny, and unforgettable. You always knew when he was in the room. Bill was an intrepid traveler and his incredible passion for travel (and the unbelievable stories that resulted therefrom) will live on in all who knew him. One of Bill's inviolate rituals was Friday cocktails with great friends. A celebration of Bill's amazing life will be held at one last Friday "cocktail hour" on November 4th, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the Sheraton, 375 South Moorland Road, in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Memorials in Bill's name can be made to Gilda's Club Madison, 7907 UW Health Court, Middleton, WI 53562 or the Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee, 728 N James Lovell Street, Milwaukee, WI 53233.

Jean you and your family have our condolences. It's Nov 14 and I just discovered that Bill had passed when I tried to reach him by phone this afternoon. When I couldn't get through on his cell phone I knew something was wrong but it wasn't until I found his Obituary on Yahoo that I really knew. Bill was a great friend and confidant who helped me on many occassions as well as many of my former tax clients. I'll never forget the great times you, Bill, Barb and I had at those wine tasting dinners at Continental Cafe years ago. I will truly miss him!
