Joshua Herbert Alvah Stetson

1987 - 2022

Joshua Herbert Alvah Stetson, born March 31,1987, was in a fatal motorcycle accident in Reno NV on June 16, 2022. 

Josh was born and raised in Juneau Alaska and attended Juneau Douglas High School, class of 2005. 

Josh worked most recently at Tesla's Giga factory as a Production Engineer. A job he took very seriously and was exceptionally proud. His co-workers appreciated that he didn't just fix the immediate issue, but solved the source of the problem, took steps to correct it, and implemented permanent changes in production. 

Josh was very much in the music scene in Juneau, Reno, and Tahoe to name a few. He mixed his own music and DJ'd under the name Bread So Fresh. He enjoyed adding surprises in his mixes which delighted audiences. 

Josh took every opportunity to explore the neighboring desert landscape, specifically locating hot springs and relaxing with friends.

Josh treated everyone like a best friend, often shouting
 'That's our friend!' His circle of friends became family. 

Josh celebrated 'Friendsgiving' with people who were away from family during the holidays. He didn't want anyone to feel alone or forgotten. 

He took the basis for Burning Man and partnered in creating Alive In The Desert. He located a like minded community and built a tiny house on their property. He and others built a stage and held an annual event of music, art, and performance. 

Josh was an advocate for mental health. He actively worked on his own and took time and effort to help others. He encouraged people to reach out to their local mental health agencies. 

Josh was part of a group of people who owned Grom motorcycles. He enjoyed riding and took the necessary safety precautions. 

Josh is predeceased by his father and two uncles. He leaves behind his mother Darcy Stetson, brother Brian Stetson, sister Jessica Elder, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and a large chosen family of friends. 

A wake was held in Reno NV. His ashes will be spread in Reno and in Juneau at future dates.
