Judy Samaniego Obituary

Judy Ann Samaniego walked the path of life until October 10, 2025 when she ended her battle with cancer. She was born to Burton and Noma Finley on May 31, 1951 in Vancouver, WA. Shortly after birth she began her Alaska journey when her family moved to Barrow, AK (Utqiagvik) where her father served as a territorial trooper beginning in 1953.

While Judy always considered Juneau home, she felt fortunate to have also lived in Fairbanks, Skagway, Sitka, Ketchikan, and Eagle River. She loved Alaska's beauty and all its wildlife as well as our special way of living by fishing, berry picking, harvesting other plants and all the smoking and canning that goes along with it. Her favorite part of life was family gatherings and living her role as a mother and grandmother.

Judy will continue to live in the hearts of her children Leeann, Sunshine and Santino; her grandchildren Andre, Justine, Isaiah, Josiah and Gracie; great grandchildren Bella, Kayden, Addy, Livvie and Amoura; brother Kerry (Debbie) Finley and husband of 53 years, Ventura, as well as numerous other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Linda, Billie, and Theresa and daughter Orlonda Lee Samaniego.

A memorial service will be held for Judy on November 5th at 5:00PM at St. Paul's Church with a reception immediately following at Hurlock Hall.
