Aneta Johnson

1940 - 2025

Aneta Johnson, 85, of Kanesholm Rd. in Kane, passed away Wednesday (Nov. 26) in UPMC-Coudersport.  Born July 20, 1940 in Kane, she is the daughter of the late Emery and Aneta "Rozalia" (Kual) Wilson.  She married, Gordon Johnson, who survives, on July 28, 1962 in Kane.

She attended grade school at Clay St and Erickson Schools and graduated from Kane High School in 1958 in the secretarial course. She was employed at the YMCA from 1956-1958 as a receptionist., and Stackpole from 1957-1977.  She spent one year in the plant and 18 years in the sales office.  Aneta was a member of the Kane Community Methodist Church, where she served on the Administrative Board and the Finance Board and chaired the newsletter of the local church.  She was a member of the Mt. Grange 1307 since 1960, a charter member of the Rainbow Girls and belonged to the Seneca Squares in Kane and the Jack and Jill Square dance club in Bradford.  She enjoyed bowling and gardening.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son Jeffrey Johnson of Kane, a sister, Dorothy (Rich) Bence and a sister-in-law, Shirley Wilson; niece's Abby Bence and Christina Wilson and nephew Kyle Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, George Wilson.

Friends are invited to attend a visitation at the Cummings Funeral Home on Wednesday (Dec. 3) from 7:00-7:30.  A funeral service will follow at 7:30 with the Rev. Calvin Cook officiating.  Burial will be in Lebanon Lutheran Cemetery.
