Marianne Rook

1941 - 2025

Marianne Rook, of Biddle St. in Kane, passed away Thursday (Nov. 27) in UPMC-Hamot. Born Feb. 9, 1941 in Kane, she is the daughter of the late William and Anna (Ogren) Knapp.  She married John "Jack" Rook, who preceded her in death, on June 1, 1959 in Kane.

Marianne had worked at Kane Magnetics for many year, retiring in 2006.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, baking and attending Tai/Chi at the Kane Community Center.

She is survived by two sons, William (Amy Johnson) Rook and John (Marianne) Rook, both of Kane; one daughter Susan (John) Huntzinger of Kane; one brother, John (Linda) Knapp of Kane; five grandchildren, Tessa (Chris) Kalwasinski of Fairview, Allison (Joe) Saquin of Kane, John (Kalli) Rook of Kane, Jordan (Jordan Jones) Huntzinger of Scottsbluff, NE and Sydney Huntzinger of Kane; eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers-in -law, Gerald (Ginny) Rook and Michael (Sharon) Rook, both of Kane; a sister-in-law, Ruth Rook of Brandon, FL and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, James Rook.

Friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday (Dec. 2) at the Kane Community Methodist Church from noon until 2:00 p.m.  A memorial service will follow at 2:00 with the Rev. Calvin Cook officiating.
