Remembering you my sweet mother, I will love you always.

My sweet beautiful Mother was a very loving and kind woman. She came from the Cohlmia and Haddad family from Lebanon. Her parents moved to America in the year 1900, where they bore Lucille, Edward, Mae, Blanche, Victoria, Lorraine , George and Margaret, who died at an early age of 21.
My grandfather had a mercantile store in Gage Oklahoma. The family was well loved and was a great help to the people in the town, especially during the Great Depression. My mother Blanche during her youth was such a beautiful woman, not only physically but spiritually as well. She loved God and always lived a shining example of a good Christian woman to her children. She taught us from her shining example of a loving woman. She cooked for all of us, and bore five children, Elaine, Phil, Roy, Pat and myself. Not only did she keep an immaculate home, she even went to my Dad's grocery store and helped him out, yet she still was home when we got home from school. She was the best cook in the world, and all of her children and grand children would agree.
She did suffer during the end of her long life, when she could no longer express herself in words, but she could express herself through her loving eyes and her sweet smile. I miss her so very much, and will think of her daily for the rest of my life. I know she is with God in His arms now, and is embraced with the love she deserved.
Rest in peace my sweet Mommy.

I was one of her care givers from the time she was 95 years old until she passed away at 103. We went to Furs or New Way every weekend. She loved New Way sandwich with a Pepsi. A few years later she had a stroke. She had problems and we could not take her out any more. But she had one every once in a while. I also grew up three doors down from her. She was a great lady. I already miss her so much. That smile when I came to work on Saturdays & the last 6 months on Sunday as well. She was so much like a grandmother to me. May she rest in peace. Love u & Miss you every day.

I am very sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. Although many, many years have passed since I had contact with your family, I still think of you all with fond memories. I worked for your Dad in both grocery stores (on South Market and Spur Market on south Broadway)while attending Wichita State University from 1947 through 1952.

To The Ruffin Family: So very sorry to hear of the passing of Blanche. Both She and Roy were very kind and considerate of me during my multiple ball playing visits to the area in the late 50's & early 60's. RIP

My sympathies to your family. I never knew Blanche though I wish I had. She was one of the few of our elders left from Lebanon. The stories they told that we should have recorded. My heart hurts for you, though you know she's in the arms of our Heavenly Father. May you feel his comfort at this time.
