Cynthia Mann Obituary

Cynthia Petersen Mann
April 12, 1961 - March 21, 2022
Wichita, Kansas - Cindy grew up in the Kanopolis/Ellsworth area, and as a kid loved the wide-open spaces, vast sunsets and the sight of gathering storm clouds. She graduated from Ellsworth High School and attended Fort Hays State University until leaving to start her own business after creating the concept of balloon displays. She brought energy, creative flair and strong passion to everything she did, whether it was running a business, working as a top sales rep for banking and home security companies, organizing political campaigns, or taking care of her home, family and pet cats.
Cindy enjoyed mid-century modern architecture and furnishings, and became known for her collection of Russel Wright dinnerware. She also was a dedicated swimmer who swam two miles a day for many years. She loved travel, garage sales and thunderstorms. Appropriately, it was during a storm delay when she met her future husband while attending a Shocker baseball game in Rosenblatt Stadium at the College World Series in Omaha.
Cindy is survived by her husband Fred and son Elliott, of Wichita; mother Betty Petersen of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; sister and brother-in-law Sherry and Grant Anderson, of Wesley Chapel, Fla,; aunt Carole Keeny and her husband, Gary, of Wichita; cousins Lori Komejan of San Carlos, Ca., and Bill Rebstock of El Dorado; nephews Ben Byler and his wife Karoline, of Wesley Chapel, Fla., Luke Byler of Lutz, Fla., Garrett Rudkin of Yukon, Ok., Brandon Rudkin and his wife Erica of Wichita, Darren Rudkin of Wichita, and niece Dani Reisman and her husband Tyler of Wesley Chapel, Fla.
She also is survived by a number of grand-nieces and nephews, including Zoe, Brady, Eli, Ryan, Charlie, Jackson, Mackenzie, and Rory Byler, Kylie and Kayla Rudkin, Landon and Austin Rudkin, Xavier and Beatrix Rudkin, and Parker Lowell Reisman.
She was preceded in death by her father Lowell C. Petersen and brother Craig Petersen of Wichita.
At her request, there were no services.
