I met David over 20 years ago in Minneapolis as part of the Residence Inn Family. David was a kind, caring and fun person to be around. He stayed the same no matter what the situation was and for that I learned much about life from him. I have enjoyed our friendship over the years and wish it could continue on. The next time I get strokes from David will be in heaven for the ultimate golf game yet to be played.
My condolences to David's family.

During the time I worked at Braeburn Golf Course, there was no one I looked forward to seeing more than David. He was one of the best members, one of the most enjoyable to play golf with and one of the best 18 handicap players around. I will miss not being able to call him to play in a Pro-Am or to be able to join his group for a round. My deepest sympathy to his family on David's passing.

It was a true privilege knowing David for over 20 years dating back to our time with Residence Inn. Words fall short in expressing the sadness all of us feel for this immense loss. I just want to say that I have never known a finer, gentler human being than David, and I will miss him very much. Thank you David for your kindness.

Dear David's family - my heart and condolences go out to you at this time and in days ahead. David was my boss at the Residence Inn, Binghamton and through his visits and ski trips we became friends. Over the years distance has separated us but the emails and phone calls kept us connected. I feel so lucky to have just seen him and celebrate his birthday (picture submitted)during his visit to California. A very special and dear friend that had a heart of GOLD! I am so blessed to have known David and will carry his jovial laugh and smile with me forever. I hope knowing the love and friendship David exuded to all who came in contact with him comforts all of us.

David's birthday celebration in Huntington Beach, CA with Ronnie & Mary Fran - it was a special evening I will never forget.

David was the kind of friend we all need, to know we are truly loved and special as a friend, as he was, and will never be forgotton. He was the softest hearted man I ever knew, and I too watched him cry when someone made him happy...he was all heart and I'll miss not having him to email jokes, prayers and things we shared to show we cared...God bless your family David, I know how much love they'll miss from you...I have his grandson's pictures on my computer I will always keep to remember how happy he was...

It is now May l, and I still cannot believe David is departed from this earth. He was the kind that you thought would always be available to you as a friend and soul mate, always willing to help, listen, and share with you. David loved everyone and if he did not, it was because he did not know you. David spoke highly of his brothers, but dearly loved his children and grand children. It was a real pleasure to have worked for him and with him for those many years at Residence Inn Charlotte. He was so looking forward to begin more traveling and visiting in the near future, and we (my wife Betty and I)were looking forward to him visiting with us which he had promised. He no doubt took the very best trip available, right into heaven. His leaving will will certainly leave an empty void for us and all his family and many friends. David, thanks for coming our way.

To all of David's family. I am truly sorry for your loss. I am also part of David's "ResidenceInn" family here in Richmond VA. I worked for David for 9 years and I always looked forward to Davids visits. David not only got to know his employees but also wanted to know our families. It's true what Joanne say's about him crying when we would win awards beccause he was so happy for us. My best memory of David was when he arranged a visit to Richmond during the NCAA tournment and got him I tickets. It may have had something to do with Wichita State playing in it. I've lost a good friend and I know a very good father. David always spoke of how proud he was of his children.

To: David's Family,
My deepest sympathy to all of David's family who he was very proud of. Words cannot express how sad I am to lose such a special friend. David was my boss at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Binghamton NY from 11/87 until 1994. He always found something good in everyone he met. At the Marriott Conferences whenever anyone on the team won an award David would cry. I would say David why are you crying and he would answer, I'm so happy for you all. He was truly the best boss and person in the world, and I was fortunate enough to have worked for him. My thoughts and prayers are with all his loved ones.

My sympathy goes out to all of David's family and friends. The last time I saw David was at our East High School Class of 1962's 40th Reunion. He was still the same, always friendly, humorous, kind person I remember from highschool. He is in the arms of the Lord now and watching over us. He will always have a special place in our hearts!
