I was saddened to learn of the passing of Derry. My heartfelt sympathies to Kay and the entire family.
Derry and I go back a long way when I was newly out of college. Derry was my senior at Peat Marwick (KPMG). Derrry was a great mentor to me. Suffice it to say he was intelligent, hard working, ethical, and also with all that a great sense of humor. If space permitted I would relate some humorous stories.
God Bless and R.I.P.

1978 was the year our growing family met Derry and his growing family. What a ride it has been...families growing and growing-up together. Derry will be missed but never forgotten. Thank you for the good years.

To the Larson family,
Don & I first met Derry in 1983. We were in need of a CPA & were referred to Derry by a mutual acquaintance.
Derry was always courteous, professional & had a joke or two. We loved his laugh & came to really care for him.
We are blessed to have been a small part of his life & to have known him all those years.
Our hearts hurt for the Larson family.

It is with sadness, but not a total surprise that I´m reading Derry´s Memorial page. I really can´t remember how long ago it was he walked into our style shop and asked if I could cut his hair because one of his friends recommended me as a barber. We hit it off almost immediately and that started a lifetime of stories, jokes and gossip. We knew a lot of the same people, so finding something to laugh about wasn´t hard. I enjoyed his big game hunting stories with his best buddy Ron Ryan, who I´ve never met, but felt like I´d known him for years also. He loved negotiating with car salesmen, sometimes I think he did it for fun not even wanting a car. His crazy tennis tales and how fiercely competitive they were. But, he was a very caring man, always helping someone, either with his talent professionally or financially. After he became dependent on oxygen I offered to bring his car to him after his haircut. He gave me the ELECTRONIC key and off I went. Everyone who knows me knows I´m a car guy too, I see him laughing as I walk back in for instructions to start his car. Derry, I will miss you my friend, but , I have our conversations and your stories that will bring smiles to my heart. Rest well my friend.

Derry we both remember and share so many great memories with you and Kay and your family. We used to love watching you make and serve your famous table side Caesar salad. We also appreciate your professionalism and work when you were providing all the accounting for our companies. Godspeed and rest in peace old friend.

Derry, Derry! You are going to be so missed by your family, staff, friends, & the community.

I met Derry Larson when he assisted in setting up
Central Plaines Cardiothoracic Surgery, LLC.
Derry & his staff were wonderful sharing their expertise in accounting & management skills with a newly transformed critical care RN into an office manager.
This professional relationship developed into a community focused friendship with many other community leaders helping to develop an non-profit:
Central Plains Regional Healthcare Foundation, which brought
Project Access to the Sedgwick County community.
Derry Larson being one of the main `wizards´ behind the scenes quietly taking care of the details of the non-profit & a large cheerleader for the initial organization of Sedgwick Co. Project Access.
This was just one of many `behind the scenes´ work Derry Larson has supported or accomplished in our Kansas community!
Thank you, Derry!
Thank you, Kay!
Yes, Kay, because behind a successful man is a wonderful, patient, & successful woman as a partner!
John & I love you both and will miss Derry´s hugs & smile!
