Wichita, Kansas - Dolores Ann Buchanan, 84, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, retired ER Registered Nurse, died Wednesday, January 12, 2022. Rosary will be at 4:00 pm, Sunday, January 16, 2022, Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am, Monday, January 17, 2022, both at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Preceded in death by her husband, John Watson Buchanan, III; parents, George John and Agnes Lenora Gillen; sister, Millie Donovan. Survived by her sons, John M. (Jacqueline) Buchanan of Wichita; Mark E. (Kelly) Buchanan of Atlanta, GA, Thomas A. (Terri) Buchanan of Wichita; grandchildren, Johnny, Jacob, Patrick, Bailey, Lauren, and Caroline; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lenora Befort of Kansas City, KS, Marjo Smith of Omaha, NE, Dorothy (Rod) Strohl of Arlington, TX, Mary Skyberg of Wichita, KS; brothers, Jerry (Kay) Gillen of Independence, MO, George (Jody) Gillen of Azle, TX, Larry (Diane) Gillen of Woodstock, GA; brother-in-law, Dan Donovan of Overland Park, KS; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. I'm sorry for your loss. When I worked with her, she often talked of her husband and family. I worked with her at St. Francis Neighborhood Med. Center. She was a wonderful Boss (Nurse), Mentor and Friend. I also remember her as a woman of strong faith. I'm thankful for time that we worked together. She was a true blessing to us all.
