El Dorado, Kansas - Ellis' life began on June 30, 1937 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; the son of Ernest and Kathrynne (Heffron) Riddle. Ellis was a true patriot, serving in the United States Navy as a Lithographer and then in the United States Navy Reserves. He owned and operated his own business, Towanda Publishing Company for many years. He was united in marriage to Glenda Morgan in 1958 and then later to Sharon Otte. Ellis enjoyed working hard, golfing, fishing, traveling in his R.V. to Lake Havasu in Arizona. His family includes his children, Becky (David) Kean of Kansas City, MO, Sonja (Keith) Ottlinger of Derby, KS, Mark (Marcie) Riddle of El Dorado, KS, Scott Riddle of Andover, KS; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ernestine Brown, John Riddle and Linda Ebersole. Ellis passed away on September 3, 2023 in Wichita, KS. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon and his parents. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 15 at 10am at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Ellis will be laid to rest at Grandview Cemetery in Kaw City, Oklahoma at 3pm.
