Frank Kenneth Atnip

Atnip, Frank Kenneth, passed away on March 12, 2009 in Kerrville, Texas. Ken Atnip as he was known by family and friends was born on June 6, 1930 in Slaton Texas. He graduated from Texas Tech in Mechanical Engineering. He later received a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Wichita State University and was the first to graduate from Wichita State with a MSME degree in 1960. Ken worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita Kansas from about 1953 until his retirement in 1989. An avid flyer, he owned a Mooney Aircraft. When he retired in '89 from Boeing, he and his wife relocated to Kerrville and made a home at Tierra Linda Ranch. Ken is survived by his children: His son, Kenneth Michael Atnip and his wife Mylene Atnip of Wichita Kansas, his daughter, Jennifer Elaine LeMasters and life partner, Donovan Havnen of Wichita Kansas, and his daughter April Lynn Keller and her husband Kevin Keller of Alpharetta, Georgia. He is also survived by several grandchildren: Jason LeMasters and his wife Rechelle LeMasters, Chris LeMasters, Amber Keller, Chase Atnip and Alex Keller. His great-grandchildren are Aden LeMasters and Jonah LeMasters. Ken is preceded in death by his parents Harlie and Josie Atnip, his three sisters; Paula Taylor, Phyllis Randolph, and Wanda Tolbert, and his wife Helen Nadine (Tebbetts) Atnip. The family would like to thank the following people: Raquel from Comfort Keepers, Brenda from In Home Senior Care, all of dad's doctors and nurses, Annie Walker, LaDonna Becker, and dad's close friends including Jim Peden, Lorena Conner, and all of the friends at Trinity Baptist Church. Services will be held at Trinity Baptist Church 800 Jackson Rd, Kerrville, TX 78028 at 2:00pm On Monday, March 16th.
