Wichita, Kansas - Jacob "Jay" John Seyffer, 47, died January 27, 2024, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital, Wichita, KS. He was born June 17, 1976, in Golden Valley, MN, to Jacob John Seyffer, Jr. and Joyce Marlys (Herman) Seyffer.
Jay was a 1994 graduate of Clearwater High School, Clearwater, KS. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Wichita State University. Jay was an accountant for Mid Kansas Auto Auction, Wichita, KS. He enjoyed online gaming and had a love for animals, especially dogs.
Jay is survived by: his mother, Joyce Ulmer and stepfather Ronnie of Newton, KS; and his loyal canine terrier companion, Max.
He was preceded in death by his father, and beloved dachshund, Hoagie.
No services are planned at this time. Burial will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Hutchinson Animal Shelter, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.

Jay and I worked together in accounting at Mid Kansas Auto Auction, we shared the same office. I got to know a lot about his dog Max.
He made me laugh about Ford vehicles, saying if he only knew that the last 6 digits of a Fords vin had a letter in it, he may have never bought his big Ford Truck. I guess you have to work with Vin numbers to understand, but I knew what he meant.
Rest in Peace Jay, the office is not the same without you there.

Jay and I started the same time at Mid Kansas Auto Auction. The more I was around Jay, the more we were able to laugh at things. He was a good guy and I will miss his laugh. Rest in peace and happiness.

Oh Joyce and Ronnie, I am so sorry to hear your Son's passing. How it hurts to loose a child. The hole in your lives and hearts is so hard to put back together.
