June 2, 1958 - February 18, 2025
Andover, Kansas - Janet Nichols Cox, 66, passed away on February 18th , 2025. She was born in Indianapolis, IN to the late James and Rose Nichols, preceded in death also by brother Michael. She leaves behind her husband, Stanley M. Cox; her sisters, Penny Pendleton and Nancy Evans; her son, Geoffrey; 2 children by marriage, Helen and Alex Cox; and her 6 grandchildren. Visitation at 6:30pm in the Chapel at St. George Orthodox Christian Cathedral on Monday, February 24th with a Trisagion and Funeral Service at 7:00pm. Interment at 10:00am at Kensington Gardens on Tuesday, February 25th.

I had the opportunity to work with Janet in a professional capacity since 2017. I appreciated her on so many levels: her kindness and grace as I was still learning, her wisdom and knowledge of the substance abuse field, as well as her tenacity and strength in dealing with hard cases and people who were struggling. My thoughts and prayers are with her family <3 <3

Janet was a remarkable woman who encouraged me to find myself and excel. She knew I had not fulfilled my purpose and helped me through some of my darkest days! I was able to share with her, that not only had all the" impossibles" become possible, but I had also survived cancer, both of my children were in my life and both serving our country, and that I was finding my purpose, and answered the call to serve as I work with those beginning their journey into recovery. Blessed to have known Janet. This world is missing someone so special, but love transcends time and space so I pray we meet again.
