Derby, Kansas - Jeanenne Louise Walling, 92, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Homestead Assisted Living in Derby. She was born July 13, 1931 to James H. and June Harris Gibson at their farmhouse 5 miles east of Chambers, NE. On August 16, 1953 she married Daryl Walling in rural Ewing, Nebraska. She served as a pastor's wife for over 20 years. She displayed her skills in playing the piano, singing, teaching students, mentoring women and her gift of hospitality. Many missionaries shared a meal of her chicken souffle and many individuals and couples were encouraged by her example of living for Christ and her words of love and care for her Saviour. She had a sweet and caring nature. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by 2 sons, Dave Walling of Derby, Michael Walling of Chicago, Il, 2 daughters, Diana (Michael) Richert of Collinsville, OK and Susan (Thomas) Scheck of Ave Maria, FL; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jerome, sister Rosemarie, husband Daryl and grandson, Luke. Visitation will be Friday, April 12, 2024 at 10:00 am at Crosswinds Community Church, 208 N. Georgia Ave., Derby, Kansas followed by a Funeral service at 11:00 am with Jeff Wisner presiding. My precious Mom, Jeanenne, was an amazing Mom! She displayed the fruit the spirit as talked about in the Bible in Galatians 5:22-23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control...." I don´t remember anytime where she yelled at me growing up, but always spoke quietly with wisdom. She taught me how to play the piano which I have I played since I was five and was my best friend in many ways. You will be missed Mom!
