Wichita, Kansas - Joanne C. Zenner, RN "Joannie", 68, passed away on Oct. 29, 2021, surrounded by her family, following a long struggle with LBD. A lifelong resident of Wichita, Joannie was born on Sep. 6, 1953, to George A. Sevick and Claona C. Crabs, the youngest of 3 siblings. Joannie was a devoted mother and wife. Later in life, she fulfilled her dream of becoming a nurse, earning an ASN from Newman Univ., followed by a BSN from Southwestern Univ. Joannie held a number of patient care positions, most recently at Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center, until her retirement. She touched numerous lives and was often commended for her care. Joannie is survived by her 5 adult children, Hannah, Meghan, Katie, Matt, and Chris; as well as 6 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon K. Beckel. A Funeral Mass will be held to honor her life at 10:00 AM on Dec. 3, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with a Rosary preceding at 9:30 AM. The Rite of Committal will follow immediately at Resurrection Cemetery. The family requests donations to the Lewy Body Dementia Association (https://www.lbda.org/honor-memorial-gifts/) in lieu of flowers. Joannie loved deeply and was deeply loved. Now she rests in the arms of Jesus, and we carry the light of her love in our hearts.

Our days at Christ the King were great. You will always be remembered as a good friend. Prayers for your children and siblings.

I love you with all of my heart, Mom. The world is darker without you. I miss you so much. But I carry the light of your love in my heart. Until we meet again, rest in peace, my beautiful mom.</3
