Derby, Kansas - Lonnie Earl Basinger, 91, Retired United States Air Force Chief Master Sergeant, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2026. Visitation with family Sunday, March 29, from 2-4 PM, service Monday, March 30, 2 PM, both at Smith Family Mortuaries, Derby. Preceded in death by his parents Joe W. (Della Maude) Basinger, wife Ann Basinger, son and daughter in law Brian (Barb) Basinger, granddaughter Debra Palmer, brothers Lloyd Basinger, Murriel (Patsy) Brown, Jimmy Leo Basinger, and sister Billy June (Elmer) Lemons. Survived by his sons Joel (Lorna) Basinger, Timothy (Carla) Basinger, grandchildren Jacob (Amy)Palmer, Christina (Brian) Ward, Marisa Giffin, 7 great grandkids, 1 great great grandson, sister Keitha (Dean) McAdoo, sister-in-law Gloria Basinger, and many nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors, and golfing buddies. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.
