Mary Lou Duke

Duke, Mary Lou, 74, passed away peacefully in the arms of her daughter, Tuesday, September 14, 2009. Visitation Friday, September 18 at 1 p.m., with services to follow at 2 p.m., at Lakeview Funeral Home, Wichita. Mary Lou was born in Beloit, KS to Bob and Ethel Metz on November 13, 1934. She lived in Mankato, KS before moving to Wichita as a child. Married to Bobby Duke, Mary Lou loved to spend time with her family as the generations continue to expand. She had an extreme passion for gardening, loving flowers of all kind, as well as enjoyed showcasing her talents with the many crafts she loved to create. Mary Lou was an employee of Beechcraft for over 30 years, where she had many dear friends. She was wonderful cook who loved to entertain for family and friends alike. Most importantly, she was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend to all. She will be greatly missed. Mary Lou is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Homer and Carl. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bobby; daughter Debra Jones (Thomas); sons, Roderick (Janet) and Cory (Rose); sister, Sharon Collins; 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
