Venice, Florida - Maurine A. Fry, Dean of the College of Education at Wichita State University from July 1988 to June 1993, died in Venice, FL July 17, 2021. Born in Akron, Iowa, August 22, 1935, Dr. Fry received her Bachelor and Master degrees from the University of South Dakota followed by her PhD from the University of Iowa.
Survivors include her companion, Nancy Millett; her sister Audrey Donnelly of Carlsbad, CA; five nieces: Cheryl Feight, Deb Kerrey, Karen Allec, Patricia Rae, and Teri Donnelly; three nephews: Clayton Bye, Gordon Bye, Mike Donnelly; and their families.
A private celebration of life service is being arranged. Condolences may be sent to:

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Endowment Office at Arizona State University.

A light has gone out in the world with the passing of this great woman. Yet, because of the light she lit in so many, the world is brighter for her having been in it. It was a privilege to have known her. My sympathy to the whole family for your great loss.
