Mitchell Addis Obituary

Addis, Mitchell 97, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 30, 2017. Mitch was born to Abe and Susie Addis on January 28, 1920, in Wichita, Kansas, and was the 8th of 11 children. He worked for Cardwell Manufacturing, was part owner of Mitch Addis and Dick Henry Appliances and retired as a salesman from Finn Distributing Company. Mitch had a great love for his family, sports and his garden. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Eileen; children, Debra (David) Nance, Melanie (Bruce) Banks; 5 grandchildren and their spouses; 3 great-grandsons; 2 sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 2, and a celebration of Mitch's life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 3, both at Downing & Lahey Mortuary West, 10515 W. Maple. Dear Eileen,
I am so sorry to learn of Mitch's death. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. I no longer live in Wichita as I moved to Lawrence to be closer to my daughter a year ago. Therefore it will be impossible to attend the service. With love and sympathy, Betty
