April 11, 1925 - January 19, 2025

Wichita, Kansas - Nancy Hunter Clausing, died Sunday, January 19, 2025. She was born April 11, 1925 at Smithfield, North Carolina, the daughter of Nellie Carroll Hunter and Voyle Venell Hunter. She graduated from Smithfield High School and Wichita State University. Nancy married attorney and naval officer Richard B. Clausing on April 15, 1944 in Washington, D.C. She was a loving wife and mother, part time substitute teacher, DAR member, volunteer driver for the Presbyterian Church for ten years and a voracious reader. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard B. Clausing and her daughter, Carroll Anne Hoke. Survivors include her children, Nancy Little (Steve Shirley), Richard B. Clausing, Jr., Mary Elliott (John), Kurt Clausing (Lana Britz) and Jamie DeWitt (Darren); son-in-law, Charles E. Hoke, II; grandchildren, Etienne Olson, Angie Glover, Joe Clausing, Michael Levy, Louis Levy, Daniel Clausing, Lauren DeWitt and 12 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 1:00pm, Monday, January 27, 2025 at the Westwood Presbyterian Church, Wichita, KS. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Services by Cozine Memorial Group-Broadway Mortuary.
