Nicholas Meyer Obituary

Meyer, Nicholas Philip, 76, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2009. Rosary, 7:00 P.M., Sunday, February 8, Downing & Lahey Mortuary West. Service, 10:00 A.M., Monday, February 9, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Nick was born May 19, 1932 in Sedalia, Missouri, to Anne and Nicholas Meyer, Sr. After serving in the Air Force, he moved to Springfield, Missouri and resided there until nine years ago. Before retirement, he was employed as Sales Manager for Haik's, Inc., a wholesale distributor. After retirement Nick moved to Sun City West, Arizona before moving to Wichita this past year. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, woodworking and model railroading. He was a member of Prince of Peace Church, Men's Club, Knights of Columbus and the Fourth Degree Honor Guard. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Joseph Meyer; sister, Carolyn Snyder. Survivors: wife, Carol; son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Barbara Meyer; grandchildren, Nick, Casey and Adam Meyer, all of Wichita; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and John Carroll of Springfield, MO, Julieanne and Eric Halkier of Copenhagen, Denmark; brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Betty Meyer of Blue Springs, MO; many nieces and nephews. Memorials established with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105 and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202.
