Orville Curtis Carver

Augusta - Carver, Orville Curtis, 89, of Augusta, Kansas, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015 in Wichita. Visitation 6-8, Thursday, Headley Funeral Chapel. Service 10 a.m. Friday, July 31, Church of Christ, Augusta. Burial following at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita. Orville was born in Center, Arkansas on August 31, 1925 to the late George and Carrie (Green) Carver. He served during WWII in the Army driving an ambulance. On March 18, 1961 he married Marie L. (Bird) Carver in Wichita. She preceded him in death. Orville worked for South Western Bell as an Installation Foreman for over 35 years. He stayed active in life by volunteering at his church and raising cattle and operating a feed business. He is survived by: daughter, Vicki Smith (Craig); son, Greg Carver (Susan); brother, Elvis (Joan) Carver; grandchildren, Casey, Abbie, Cody (Amanda), Shea and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Carpenter Place 1501 N. Meridian Ave. Wichita, KS 67203.
