R. Vickers Obituary
November 2, 1932 - January 27, 2022
Wichita, Kansas - R. Byrne Vickers, 89, entered his eternal home on Thursday, January 27, 2022. A rosary will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, February 4, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1215 N. Stratford Lane, Wichita, KS; the Funeral Mass will be Saturday, February 5, at 10 a.m., also at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Byrne was preceded in death by his parents, Helen Elizabeth "Nell" and John Aldred Vickers; his seven siblings and many of their spouses: Helen E. Clark (Preston), Patricia A. Sinclair (Tom), J.A. Vickers (Cally), Paula M. Petrie (Jack), James W. Vickers, Robert F. Vickers (Susan), and Thomas M. Vickers, as well as nephews Preston Vickers and Kevin Petrie (Stacy), and niece Carol Petrie. He is survived by his wife, Becky, and their four daughters Beth Vickers Lockard (Mike), Laura Vickers, Lisa Vickers Hupp (Keith); Patricia Vickers-Doerhoff (Dale); his grandchildren Todd Lockard, Austin Lockard (Christine), Lizzie Lockard, Brian Campbell, Aiden Campbell, Ian Campbell, Cashion Hupp, Lilly Rebecca Hupp, Ryan (Hannah) Doerhoff; and great-grandaughter Rowan Doerhoff, due March 21, 2022. Additionally Byrne is survived by sisters-in-law JoDee Vickers (James) and Rhonda (Vickers) McClure (Thomas) as well as many nieces and nephews.
