My deepest sympathies to the family of Ruth Dawson. I knew Ruth for close to 35 years. We worked together. I do not remember exactly when I met her, however, what I do remember is that she was pretty insistent about making me her friend. And I am grateful, blessed and honored that I was her friend. I am having a hard time imagining a world where I will never hear her laughter again. Over the years we shared a lot of laughter. Ruth was also a very wise woman and I will be forever thankful for the advice she gave me when I was facing some diversity in my life. One of my favorite memories is the day she called me and told me she had made a peach cobbler for her family. When she started making the peach cobbler she had a band aid on her finger when she was finished making the cobbler the band aid was gone. We laughed so hard over the missing band aid and where it might have ended up. And I teased her about the missing band aid over the years. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers. I know God will provide you with the comfort that only he can provide.
