Sharon Kay McLain
August 22, 1945 - November 12, 2021
Wichita, Kansas - Sharon Kay (Wonner) McLain passed away at 11:30 p.m., Friday, November 12th in Wichita, KS. She died of complications from Afib, Chronic Heart Failure, and COPD. She was born near Hays, Kansas to Frank H. Wonner and Marjorie M. McEwen. She was a graduate of Hays High School and Johnson County Community College. She worked as a dental hygienist in Kansas City and later in Wichita where she met the love of her life, Michael McLain. Together they enjoyed sailing and beaching at Cheney Lake and occasional trips to Las Vegas. She was also a dedicated reader, amassing a huge library.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Michael; brother, Steven A. Wonner, Alameda, CA; great niece, Meghan L. Fisk, Wichita; brothers-in-law, Larry (Pat) McLain, Hutchinson; Patrick (Karen) McLain, Shoreline, WA; sister-in-law, Merilyn (Don) Harris, Wichita.
Sharon was preceded in death by her mother, father, sister, Lynn Galliart, niece, K. Michele Fisk.
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date. Memorials in her name may be made to your local library.
