SJ was like a brother to me. I loved talking about nature, gardens, flowers and his vegetables he grew. Also, we both loved cooking, often exchanging recipes. I often sent him dark chocolates and cookies. And, he would tell me of his travels. He loved motorcycles and especially john rested. He called Chrissy his honey, as they were very much in love. I love you bro. With all my heart, Elaine xoxo

Dear Christine,
Deb and I send our love and prayers to you and Steve's family. Through you, we have known and cared deeply about Steve and I had the pleasure of knowing him briefly "in person." We know you take comfort in the good fortune that he had so many good years, much thanks to you.
With our love and sympathy.

I´ve known Steve since first grade. In fact he was my very first date. We had a banquet in first grade and we had dates. Steve was mine. We both grew up on Maple. Spent many a day playing at his house. He was always so sweet and funny. So glad our first grade gang (Nancy Clausing, Lynn Mobley, Sherry Clawson, Randy Hay, Jimmy Carnahan, Gene Doshier bad me) we all together at our 70th birthday bash in Wichita Oct 2019) The reminiscing and stories flowing. He will be missed. Prayers to his family.

Steve was one of our first grade gang. At our West High get togethers, I remember him always expressing his love for his family, his smile, and his gentle sense of humor. My sympathy to the family.

I grew up with Steve. My family lived on Maple and then Ridge Road for almost 60 years. He was always polite, fun and easygoing. His classmates were so glad he would attend our high school (West) reunions. We knew he had cancer; but he was strong, not wanting attention paid to that We will all miss him!
