Steve was a wonderful co-worker and is missed terribly here in our shop. I met Steve years ago when we were on 3rd shift. He was so careing, always asking about my family and always interested in what my kids were up to. Steve always brought a smile to my face. I am a better person for knowing him.

What gives me peace is knowing he is with his mother whom he loved and missed dearly.

Love you man. See you later.

Steven will be missed for his laughter, smile and zest for life. I met Steven through his Mother JoEllen and he was always smiling. I spent a few holidays with him, and while n Seattle we had dinner and laughed again. Steve I'm glad your with your mom now. You both will always be in my thoughts.

I had the opportunity to get to know Steve during this past softball season. He was a cheerful, thoughtful and unique guy who made every game or outing fun. As one of the catcher's on the Kings, I had to catch ball after ball of his pitches. Many times Steve would ready himself to pitch, stance very stoic and then a slight grin would glance across his face, next thing you know the batter was out. I always said to him, "You're one to watch, it’s always in your grin." Thank you Steve. You taught me a thing or two about catching and thanks for the chance to get to know you better. To your friends and family, we in Seattle owe you a great appreciation and as a community (not only a team) are sending you the utmost of sympathy. Steve will be missed on and off the field.

I too have wonderful memories of growing up with Stevei. I will remember him most of all as a caring, easy-going, humorious guy. He was always laughing, cutting up, and making people laugh. Stevei had a serious side to his nature but refused to grow up; Stevei remained a kid at heart.

Stevei was the finest example of a human being. He will be missed by all.

We didn't know your son Leroy, but we do express our sympathy on hearing of his death. That seems much too young, but God has His own plans and I guess we have to follow them. Our prayers are with you and for your family.

I am deeply saddened to hear about Steve. He was a great guy and a great pitcher. I was the co-coach of the softball team he was on as well as a fellow teammate on the field. He had a great rapport with all of us. Always upbeat on the field and giving 110%. He will be missed very very much.

First, one of our players thinks she has a few pics of him and will send along to Kerry Walsh for forwarding to Steven's brother if she finds them.

We knew your brother and son as a teammate.

Steven was a reliable, humorous, easy-going fellow, always willing to help other folks and a great guy to have around.

He played softball in the Emerald City Softball Association for quite a few years and in it helped provide comraderie and a sense of community to not only his teammates, but to other teams as well. Even though the league was also home to numerous straight folks (guys and gals), it was predominantly a gay and lesbian recreational program that had grown from ten teams just a few years ago to twenty-three this year.

Steve was the first to volunteer to bring a first aid kit, ice, warm-up with someone or demonstrate his pitching style to.

He'll be missed by many out in the Puget Sound Area.

You had a great brother and son!
