Hillsboro, Kansas - Stewart Anthony Bichet II, 51, Hillsboro, best known as owner and operator of ASAP Auto Glass 2003-2020, peacefully passed away January 19, 2021, at Ascension Via Christi St. Joseph, Wichita, from diabetic complications.
He was born April 9, 1969, in Hutchinson, to Frederick and Carol (Smith) Bichet. Stewart was incredibly smart, even achieving the coveted Eagle Scout rank in Boy Scouts of America at the age of 13. He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1987 and began his different career adventures in sales, eventually realizing his dream of owning his own business.
On October 4, 1992, Stewart married Lana DeWater, and they had two daughters, Viktoria and Erika.
After growing up in Hutchinson and living in Wichita thru the 90's, the Bichets settled in Hillsboro, where they raised their girls and started their business, ASAP AutoGlass, a mobile glass repair and replacement company serving multiple counties. ASAP was, at heart, a family business, and even provided the opportunity for Viktoria to open her own automotive related shop in Newton.
Stewart was known for his love of loud music, the outdoors, and for being an extremely hard-working man. He enjoyed watching different sports and sharing his favorite 80's movies with his daughters. Family time was always a top priority in the Bichet household and they enjoyed many adventures together, including vacations, concerts, outdoor activities like fishing, camping, and horseback riding. And of course, the staples like the importance of being together for meals and games nights.
Stewart was diagnosed as a diabetic in his late 30's and struggled to maintain his health.
Stewart is survived by: his father, Fred, of Hutchinson; daughters, Viktoria Boucher (Jesse) of Florence, Erika Bichet (fiancé, Taylor Heidebrecht) of Dodge City; granddaughter, Charlee Boucher; half-sister, Shauna Bichet (Andreas) of Irvine, CA; ex-wife and mother of his daughters, Lana DeWater of Hillsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol, and his grandparents.
Due to COVID, there will be no services at this time. A Celebration of Life is planned for family and close friends in the Spring.
