Vivian Hanson, born May 7, 1934, 91 years old, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 16 in Wichita, Kansas. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert A. Hanson and her sons, Robert J Hanson of California and Stewart Hanson of Wichita. She is survived by her children: Marcia Hanson Meeks (Tom), Richmond, VA, Steve Hanson (Leah), Joplin, MO and her daughter in law Katie Hanson, La Honda, CA. Grandchildren: Kelly Miller (Mark), Salisbury, MD, Ashlyn Ennis (Bruce), Salisbury MD, Maddie Hanson, Oakland CA, RJ Hanson, San Francisco, CA, Matthew Hanson, La Honda, CA, Keegan Briggs (Jimmy), Lenexa, KS and Luke Hanson, Wichita, KS, Great Grandchildren: Agnes Clark, Sullie, Grayson and Brooks Ennis and Cole and Paige Miller. She was dearly loved by her older sister and 4 brothers and also the beloved aunt to 2 dozen nieces and nephews.
Vivian was born in Columbia, Mo and raised in Manhattan, KS graduating from Manhattan High School. She met her "husband to be" as he ran up the stairs of the high school for the first time. He was the new good looking and athletic student she heard everyone talking about. They married young and had a daughter and 2 sons within 3 years and added to the family 11 years following with another son. She was a working mom helping support her husband and family. She loved people and they loved her while working at Varneys Campus Book Store at Kansas State University, Barnes Flowers in Kansas City and then two decades working in banking when they lived in Littleton, CO, Slidell, LA and finally Wichita. She retired in her 70's from Intrust Bank opening new accounts and safe deposits making many long standing friends.
She loved the sun, pool, beach and shopping. Of her many loves, shopping was her favorite. Just ask her friends at Talbots. If she couldn't find it, she flocked to the estate sales in Wichita. She had just the right look for any event, whether it be sporty, classic or elegant. She was called Babe by her husband or Viv, Mom, Aunt Vy, Mimi and Grandma.
She is finally with her soul mate once again and her oldest and youngest sons. We will always treasure the memories, love her forever and remember how she loved us.
