Wichita, Kansas - William "Billy" Marshall Strohm
Passed away 07/14/2024 – Bill wore many hats in his lifetime. He served in the Navy doing 2 tours in Vietnam. He worked for Schiltz Beer Company. He was a manager for Pay and Pack. He worked security for Sentinel Patrol. He worked for Diplomat Mortuary and Ambassador Mortuary.
His final hat was Supervisor of Preferred Mortuary Services the business he and his ex-wife Kim Strohm started and built together. Here is where Bill acquired the famous "Smurf" nick name that he carried to the end.
Bill was involved with 81 Speedway for many years as his favorite pass time. They were his second family.
He was a force to be reckoned with. His heart and soul was a gift to all. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
He is survived by 4 children – Dale Ballenger of Toronto Kansas – Jr and Jennifer Strohm of Derby – Butch and Adrian of Haysville – Eggo and Lisa of Houston Texas
Also survived by 4 step children – Chris and Terra (Dossie) Doyle of Indianapolis – Brandon Dossie of Wichita – Brian Dossie of Wichita – Niel and Amanda Dossie of Rose Hill.
