ALFRED WALTER DEVAUX

Alfred Walter DeVaux, 81, passed away December 30, 2009. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2010, at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd. Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice, 9221 Ward Pkwy, Suite 100, K.C., MO 64114. Alfred was born August 28, 1928, in Kansas City, MO, to Harvey Walter and Lucy Alice (Myers) DeVaux who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his two sisters, Ada DeVaux and Frances Church; two brothers, Louis DeVaux and Robert DeVaux. As a young man he served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He retired in 1986 from the Sheet Metal Worker's Local # 2 after 35 years. He leaves his daughter, Dianna Gillespie; former wife, Catherine DeVaux; longtime dear friend, Margaret Ann Webb; brothers, Melvin and Gene; two grandchildren, Derek and Garret Gillespie. He was a devoted father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a three-time cancer survivor but sadly lost his most recent battle.
