Alma Phillips Obituary

Alma Jane Phillips, 80, of Belton, MO, died October 17, 2002, at her daughter's home. Memorial service will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday, October 20, at Heartland Family Ministries First Baptist Church, Belton, MO. Visitation will be 2-3:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. Burial in Belton Cemetery, Belton, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Christian Church Building Fund or Heartland Benevolent Fund. Mrs. Phillips was born April 5, 1922 in Kansas City, MO. She was a lifelong resident. She was a member of the New Hope Christian Church and active in the ministries. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi since 1958. She retired from the Belton School District after 25 years, volunteered at Belton Research Hospital, secretary of the Belton Cemetery Association, and volunteered for "Saved by Grace" newsletter. Preceded in death by her husband, Fred L. Phillips, in 1998. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Pound and her husband, Richard of the home; two brothers, Melvin Dimoush of Belton, MO and Paul Dimoush of Rantoul, KS; two sisters, Genevieve DuBroc of Weatherford, TX and Virginia Beem of Belton, MO; two grandchildren, Jennifer Marie Huffman and husband, Timothy W. of Peculiar, MO and Russell E. Pound and wife, Amy of LeJeune, NC; three great-grandchildren, Samantha, Madeline and Taylor. (Arrangements: E.K. George & Sons, 611 Chestnut, Belton, MO 64012 (816) 322-2995)
